RESIDENTS in Middlesbrough are wanted to join a health panel to discuss important issues affecting the town.
Middlesbrough Council’s health scrutiny panel has a direct influence on the way health services are delivered locally.
A programme is being drawn up for the coming year and members are keen to hear from anyone with views on how local services can be improved.
Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust assistant chief executive, Jo Malone, said: "Health Scrutiny is a vital part of the process of ensuring that patient and public views are a priority when it comes to deciding and developing health services for the people of Middlesbrough.
"Whilst the health scrutiny process is often challenging we also feel it is a valuable opportunity to share and debate the many health investments and developments that are designed to help make Middlesbrough a healthier town."
Councillor Eddie Dryden, chairman of the Health Scrutiny Panel, said: "This is an opportunity for people to make their voices heard.
"We want to hear people’s views and concerns on any area of health provision.
"We’re not there to investigate complaints, but rather to look at broader topics and then come back with recommendations for improvements."
Anyone wishing to join the panel should call Jon Ord on 01642-729706 or email scrutiny@middlesbrough.gov.uk
