A UNIQUE art exhibition which releases odours has opened at a shopping centre.
Olfaction will run at The Gates Shopping Centre in Durham from noon to 4pm daily until Saturday.
The new exhibition, which features work by national and international artists, consists of eight pieces of visual art that release various everyday smells, including; fish and chips, fruit and veg and toothpaste.
The Gates centre manager Inge Johnson said: "We are delighted to host this imaginative exhibition which will certainly appeal to people of all ages who visit the centre."
The exhibition will end with a closing party from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday. Everyone is welcome to attend and free refreshments will be available. Admission to the exhibition is free.
