TALENTED cast and crew from an amateur dramatics group are celebrating double success at a drama festival.
Sedgefield Players production of Sue Wilding’s Some People Talking won second place at the Wakefield Drama Festival.
Adjudicator Russell Whiteley commended the sensitive playing of all four cast members and the smooth choreography of the scene changes.
Group chairman Norma Neal won the best actress award for an emotional and comic performance.
Stage mates Viv Jacobs, Terry West and Walter Howell were also nominated in the best actress, actor and director categories.
It was Sedgefield Player’s second visit to the festival, which is held in the town’s Theatre Royal and Opera House.
Sedgefield Players’ next project is their own drama festival of one act plays in September, when groups from the region bring a variety of productions to Sedgefield Parish Hall for a week of friendly rivalry and entertainment.
