A host of activities – from welly tossing to guessing the weight of a lamb – will be on offer at this year’s summer event to raise funds for St Mary’s Church in Brignall, Teesdale.
The event this year is called ‘A Collection of Teesdale Talents’, to be held on Fathers’ Day - Sunday June 21 - at Moorhouse Farm, Brignall.
Professional and amateur artists will be exhibiting work alongside a glass engraver, woodturners, a potter, furniture makers, a textile artist and knitters. There will also be locally made produce to buy, including jams and chutney, fudge and farm produced yoghurt.
There are activities for children and adults, such as a treasure trail and bran tub, and the ‘guess the weight of a lamb’ and welly-tossing contests, plus home-baked cakes, a barbeque with locally sourced burgers, sausage and bacon and a bar.
Entrance is by ticket, available from the Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge, or on the gate, at £2 per person (free to under 12s).
Church committee member Debbie Heap said: ‘It’s a great way to spend a lazy, hopefully sunny afternoon. And it will provide much needed funds towards the upkeep of the church for future generations of Brignall.’ The event will be open from 2pm to 6pm and the route from theA66 past the Morritt Hotel will be clearly marked.
