ENFORCEMENT officers want to speak to this man after he was spotted on camera dropping litter.
Middlesbrough Council’s enforcement team is hoping to identify the man after he was allegedly seen discarding a can of lager on Linthorpe Road, in Middlesbrough The suspect was recorded by an officer using a head camera on February 19.
The man was issued with an £80 litter fixed penalty on the spot and when he failed to pay a reminder was sent to the name and address he had provided.
However the details turned out to be those of an innocent person. It is thought that the false details may have been taken from a business card.
Failing to give the correct details when asked to do so is also an offence.
Councillor Barry Coppinger, Middlesbrough Council’s executive member for community protection, said: "Middlesbrough is cleaner and tidier than it’s ever been, and that’s in no small part due to a major reduction in this kind of unnecessary littering.
"We will continue to take action where such incidents occur and the head cameras are proving highly effective both as a deterrent and as an evidence-gathering tool.
"Someone will recognise this individual and I would urge them to contact us."
Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact Anja Hasebrink on 01642-728681 or by email at anja_hasebrink@middlesbrough.gov.uk
