A SECOND case of swine flu has been confirmed in North Yorkshire today.
The case, in the Hambleton area of the county, is not connected to the case confirmed at the weekend.
A statement released by NHS Yorkshire and the Humber said: "An individual from North Yorkshire and York has been tested and found to have the virus.
"The individual is being treated at home with anti viral drugs and is responding to treatment.
"The case is not connected to the existing case in North Yorkshire and York which was confirmed on Saturday.
"If anyone is worried, we would encourage them to call the swine flu information line on 0800 1513 513.
"If a person has flu-like symptoms, they should stay at home and contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or phone their GP."
