A NORTHALLERTON school has moved some of its PE lessons to a neighbouring leisure centre in a new scheme that aims to give pupils a more positive attitude to physical activity.
Thirty girls from year nine at the Allertonshire School are spending their normal school based sports lesson at Hambleton Leisure Centre for six weeks where instructors are putting them through their paces.
The programme has been designed to combat inactive lifestyles and build good exercise habits during the early years of life.
"The sessions are sports hall based – boxercise, circuits and team combat are included," said Luke Brudenell, Zest instructor and coach at the centre.
"I have found them all motivated to learn more about nutritional advice and its great to see them enjoying activities they do not normally get the chance to do."
