THE stepfather of a teenager fighting for his life in hospital has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Kenneth Alan Blight was arrested on Saturday night after he allegedly stabbed Andrew Nelson in neck outside the family home.
The 50-year-old, of Princes Square, Thornaby, did not enter a plea when he appeared before Teesside Magistrates Court earlier today.
He was released on conditional bail and is due to appear before Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.
Mr Blight was bailed to an address in Ampleforth Road, Berwick Hills, Middlesbrough, and he was ordered not to enter Thornaby or contact prosecution witnesses.
The 19-year-old remains in a critical condition at James Cook University Hospital.
