OAPs became VIPs today when residents of a care home were given a free makeover by hair and beauty salon staff.
Hairdressers and beauticians from Saks, in Bishop Auckland, treated the 35 residents at Sycamore Lodge, in Spennymoor, to new looks.
The event was to mark Saks empire’s 35th anniversary.
Tarn Nichol, who has ran the Bishop Auckland franchise for 20 years, said: "We’re all celebrating 35 years in business across the country with promotions and events, here we wanted to give something back to the area.
"Our salon’s newest stylists, Gemma Richardson and Michael Teesdale, wanted to go out there and do something so with beauty salon manager Tracy Wlodarczak and Kirsty White doing beauty treatments they visited the home.
"We know about it through a client and they happen to have 35 residents so it was the perfect place, its been a real feel good event."
