POLICE have named the 18-year-old man who was stabbed to death in a North East street on Friday night.
Ian Charlton died from a single stab wound after he was found in Caldicot Close, Middlesbrough at around 9pm on Friday night.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The 18-year-old man who died can be named as Ian Charlton from the Grangetown area of Middlesbrough.
"A 21-year-old local man has been charged with murder and will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court tomorrow.
"A 17-year-old has been released on police bail pending police enquiries. Three other people, a 27-year-old man, a 43-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman have been released without charge."
Mr Charlton died despite the efforts of an off-duty nurse who tried to save him.
Neighbour Jacqueline Mealing, 39, said: “When I got outside I realised how serious it was and someone was shouting ‘He’s been stabbed, he’s been stabbed."
"I ran along and tried to clear the crowd back.
“He was still breathing when I got there, but he had a large wound on the left side of his chest."
