They were joined by around 30 medical students from Durham University.
Afterwards Stockton Council’s recycling mascot Freda the Frog, was there to meet the children Stockton Council’s Care For Your Area Team supplied all the equipment for the trip.
Julie Place, customer care co-ordinator at High Flyers Childcare Centre, said: "This was a wonderful opportunity for families to get out in the fresh air, do something for the community and teach their little ones the importance of caring for their environment by not dropping litter."
