Like it or not - and I have to confess that I like it - "Britain's Got Talent" is the talk of the nation.
It is so popular that everyone wants to be in on the act - and that is leading to some of the most ridiculous press releases I've seen for a long time.
One has just dropped headed: "Confused.com reveals: Which 'Britain's Got Talent' contestant is odds-on to win when it comes to car insurance".
Apart from the incorrect use of the colon, it's a lot of nonsense.
Simon Cowell (a judge not a contestant) is described as "high maintenance" because he owns posh cars like a Rolls, Aston Martin and Jaguar. Well, there's a surprise.
Susan Boyle, otherwise known as "The Hairy Angel", could see her insurance premium double if she takes up singing for a living and moves from her sleepy Scottish home to London. Well, there's another revelation.
On the other hand, the florist from the opera-flower arranging double act 'Floral High Notes' could prune a third off his premium if he goes solo because florists are not seen as a big risk.
And schoolboy Shaheen Jafargholi would pay less (when he gets to 17) by staying in Wales, rather than moving to London.
I feel completely enlightened. Confused.com has cleared things up nicely.
To cut your car insurance, follow these three vital steps:
* Don't have an expensive car
* Don't move to London
* And be a florist.
Brilliant!
