COUNCILLORS have approved plans to give a north Durham park a £335,000 facelift.
The are planning committee of Durham County Council unanimously backed proposals for South Moor Memorial Park in South Moor, near Stanley.
It paves the way for new play facilities, sports equipment, a skate park and an environmental makeover.
Planning manager Fiona Clarke said: “The park has fallen into disrepair and this will improve the facilities for people in the area.”
