A PHOTGRAPH by a Hungarian photographer has been named best photograph at the Sharow Photographic Competition.
Zoltan Balogh won £300 for his image, Transylvanian Gypsies, which was taken in Romania.
Runner up at the event, now in it’s fourth year, was Nicola David, from Sharow, who won £250 for her photo, entitled, The 4.30pm from Kings X.
More than 200 prints were submitted to the competition and were displayed at St John’s Church, in Sharow, near Ripon, with categories including time, wildlife and street life.
The competition is open to amateur photographers of any ability and also has a special category for schoolchildren.
All proceeds from the exhibition went to Martin House children’s hospice in Boston Spa.
