SPORTS teams in Ryedale can apply for extra funds under a new Sport England initiative that aims to extend the availability of sport and encourage more youngsters to get active.
Sport Unlimited has made money available to Active Ryedale, the local community sports network- community groups, sports teams and clubs, coaches and individuals can apply for grants for 10-week programmes during a school term.
The activities can already be in place and can be aimed at children who are already active as well as those who are not.
Application forms for the September to December 2009 program must be submitted to Chris Chatten by Friday, June 19.
