AN after school club for talented youngsters has visited the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales.
Wolsingham School and Community College organised the trip for its Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths club (Stemnet).
The trip, to Machynlleth, saw the group stay in eco cabins and live within a renewable energy quota for the weekend.
Chris Gray, from the school, said: "In the ecocabins a display board showed our energy usage, and more importantly, how much energy was being provided by the solar panels, hydroelectricity and wind turbines.
"The group undertook a challenge to make the best wind turbine, and later took a sensory walk.
"Each student was blindfolded and had to follow a rope trail through woodland, including the river.
"After more time around the site and fun in the adventure playground, they returned to Wolsingham, tired but proud of the fact that they had lived in an environmentally friendly way for the whole weekend."
