THE Canadian bomber crews who lost their lives in the Second World War will be remembered later this month.
The annual Service of Remembrance for the Canadian squadrons that operated out of North Yorkshire will take place at the Sundial Memorial, Sutton-on-the-Forest at 3pm on May 30.
Attending the event and reading the Act of Remembrance will be the Doug Sample, a wartime rear gunner with 415 Squadron RCAF, who is the president of the Yorkshire Air Museum’s fundraising Canada Branch.
There will also be representatives from RAF Leeming, Yorkshire Air Training Squadrons and the Royal Air Force Association, with their standards.
Veterans, residents and the general public are welcome to join in the ceremony.
