A GROUP of children’s television characters have taken to the streets.
Families in fancy dress yesterday (tue) took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for community funds.
Parents and children from Thornley and Wheatley Hill children’s centres joined in the fund-raising event.
Debbie Unsworth, community engagement worker at Wheatley Hill Children’s Centre, said: "Everyone got dressed up as their favourite TV characters for the sponsored walk.
"It was a chance for families to enjoy some exercise and have fun together and do something to support their local community."
They set off from Thornley Children’s Centre, on Cooper’s Terrace, at 1pm for their walk to Thornley Methodist Church, on Dunelm Road.
