HUNDREDS of people turned out for the Labradoodle Trust’s first fun day, held this weekend.
South Park, in Darlington, was the venue for the event, which featured judging of all breeds and agility classes.
Taking centre stage though were the labradoodles, a labrador-poodle cross, which have grown in popularity in recent years.
Organiser Lynn Crackett said Sunday’s event was a great success.
She said: “People came from as far away as Leeds and Manchester to enter.
We are really chuffed with how it went.
“We also wanted to get across the message that the labradoodle isn’t a designer dog. It is promoted in places as a low maintenance dog, but that is a complete myth, it is high maintenance.”
As well as activities for the dogs, there was also plenty on site for the children, with a bouncy castle and face painting available.
