A POPULAR museum will open today for free to try to recruit volunteers.
Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum, at Skinningrove, east Cleveland, needs guides.
The attraction is hosting Aycliffe Bus Preservation Society’s Aidensfield Bus.
In addition to trips around the area in the buses, visitors can enjoy Cleveland Model Railway Club’s 25ft layout of Guisborough Railway Station, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
There will be storytellers, an archaeologist, folk singers and other attractions, as well as a chance to tour the museum.
The museum has just reopened following a £60,000 revamp to extend the building and provide more classroom and exhibition space.
