The National tour of the ‘Hope Not Hate’ bus visited Ferryhill on Saturday 23rd May at 1pm. It was situated on the town car park next to the toilets.
This was part of a National Tour which normally only visits major Towns and Cities and is aimed at a campaign to counter racism and fascism at all elections. The campaign supports no individual political party but warns of the dangers of racism and fascism.
Information was available for residents from the bus to dispel many of the myths around these two emotive issues. People were able to ask organisers questions and have their issues addressed.
This has been a popular event throughout Britain and the organisers were pleased by the turnout of residents in Ferryhill and the surrounding area.
