POP superstar Beyonce Knowles last night made her first visit to the North-East as a solo artist.
Beyonce, formerly part of the globally successful group Destiny’s Child, played to a packed Metro Radio Arena, in Newcastle, one of only five UK venues on her global I Am Sasha Fierce tour.
The singer, who has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and is the biggest-selling female artist of the 21st Century, wowed the sell-out crowd with latest hits Halo and If I Were A Boy, and past hits Crazy In Love, a duet with her rapper husband Jay Zee, and Listen, from the Oscar-winning movie she starred in, Dreamgirls.
Beyonce’s sister, Solange was a support act.
