CHILDREN will take to the streets of their village next week dressed as their favourite television character.
Volunteers will be taking part in the fancy dress sponsored walk in Thornley, County Durham, on Tuesday to raise money for community projects in the local area.
Parents and children from Thornley and Wheatley Hill children’s centres are taking part in the event which leaves the centre on Cooper’s Terrace, in Thornley, at 1pm for the walk to the Methodist church on Dunelm Road.
Debbie Unsworth, community engagement worker at Wheatley Hill Children’s Centre, said: "Everyone will be getting dressed up as their favourite TV characters for the sponsored walk.
"It will be a chance for families to enjoy some exercise and have fun together and do something to support their local community."
