The music of New York singer Fredo Viola is a perfect combination of 21st century technology and that oldest of musical instruments: the human voice. The playful interaction of multi-layered harmonies, intricate shimmering vocal melodies and electro-acoustic elements renders arrangements that radiate gem-like iridescence; but despite the sophistication of his sound, the atmosphere Fredo’s music suggests is one of sublime innocence and romance. There is almost mystical undertone to his work that illuminates that magical in the everyday. His songs are dreamy, possessing a strange enchanting beauty. The feature track on the album Red States is a breezy parable of love and war carried aloft on the warm currents of a Beatles style melody. Song Let The Sad Out is a duet of sorts with voice-actor Donavan Freberg, it is an unusual choice of vocal partner however the track oozes lyrical genius.
Released June 1st.
