Great Aycliffe Residents Association has called a public meeting to discuss Newton Aycliffe’s "growing problem" of anti-social behaviour.
The meeting, at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 25, takes place in St Mary’s Church and the association has invited a panel of community leaders.
Some in Newton Aycliffe believe drink and drug fuelled anti-social behaviour is in danger of getting out of control and becoming an increasing burden to the taxpayer.
The association’s Syd Howarth will act as chairman and is inviting members of the public to attend and contribute.
Mr Howarth said: "It is clear the subject is worrying a lot of townspeople and this meeting will give residents an opportunity to air their views."
