TEACHERS are hoping to inspire their pupils with their attempt to complete the Three Peaks Challenge.
The nine staff members from Macmillan Academy in Middlesbrough are aiming to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon to raise money for the Daisy Chain charity, based in Stockton.
Jamie Cox, Kevin Lane, Anselm Allen, Matthew Boud-Self, David Wilson-Stonestreet, Zeff Marlowe, Lucy Scott and Kevin Storer will try to ascend the three highest mountains in Britain within 24 hours this weekend.
Mr Cox, the event organiser and head of geography at the Middlesbrough secondary school, said the challenge was a mountain he had always wanted to try.
"Its a great way to raise money for a great charity, as the Daisy Chain Project provides respite care for autistic children and their families within the Teesside area," he said.
