EAST Durham College will be celebrating the completion of its new £36m Peterlee Campus with a special Proms in the Park.
The English Philharmonic, conducted by David Haslam, will perform a range of Last Night of the Proms classics at the event on Friday June 26.
The orchestra will also feature leading violinist Tristan Gurney, while the compere for the evening will be BBC television news presenter Nicholas Owen.
The arrival time is 6.30pm with the orchestra performance starting at 8pm.
The evening will be rounded off with the orchestra playing to a firework spectacular. Those attending are invited to bring their own food and soft drinks - no alcohol due to licensing restrictions. Alcoholic drinks will be available at the bar.
The college catering staff will be preparing hampers, available for £20 to £30. To order call catering on 0191-518 5588 before Wednesday June 10.
