NOT for the first time this season, Graeme Storm’s push for glory on the European Tour was blighted by a horrendous third round at the 3 Irish Open.
Storm was in contention after the opening two days by starting the weekend fiveunder par.
And despite finishing the tournament with an impressive 68 yesterday, the Hartlepool pro’s 72 on Saturday prevented him from finishing in the top ten.
In the end the 30-year-old finished 12 shots adrift of eventual winner Irishman Shane Lowry.
Yorkshireman Simon Dyson climbed back up to tied 41st yesterday with a final round 68, making slight amends for his own Saturday horror show that ended in an 80.
Barnard Castle’s Robert Dinwiddie was left to rue a horrible second round after failing to make the cut.
Dinwiddie was tied fifth after an opening round 67, but his 74 on Friday prevented him from making the weekend’s play.
