THE full line-up for a free music festival has been announced.
Combining established bands with up-and-coming groups, the tenth Middlesbrough Music Live event will take place next month.
The Zutons will headline the main stage, while Noah And The Whale and Frank Turner will grace the Empire and the Sumo Rock stages.
The Rumble Strips, whose upcoming debut album has been produced by Mark Ronson, will close the night in the Town Hall.
New talent will include The Black Box Revelation, The Sunshine Underground, Future of the Left and Golden Silvers.
Graham Ramsay, from local promoter Ten Feet Tall, said: “We are really pleased with the line-up we have put together.
As always, there is a really good mix of well-known bands and bands that people might not have heard of just yet, but will definitely have heard of this time next year.”
Judith Croft, from Middlesbrough Council, said: “What really sets Music Live apart is the fact that all the stages are only a few minutes’ walk from each other, and this creates an enormous buzz right across the site, with tens of thousands of music fans constantly on the move from one stage to the next, all on the lookout for their new favourite band.
“The fact that the town centre can boast such a great range of different sites and venues really helps to set Middlesbrough Music Live apart from virtually every other music festival in the country.”
Since the first Middlesbrough Music Live event in 2000, the festival has established a reputation as one of the best places to see the finest new acts, with bands such as The Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Razorlight and Bloc Party all enjoying early afternoon slots before they reached stardom.
In addition to the main event, on Sunday, June 7, there are also a number of warm-up events from Thursday to Saturday, June 4 to 6.
