A TOWN council has given youth projects a boost by rewarding their achievements with grants to keep up their good work.
The second Bishop Auckland Town Council youth awards was held at Bishop Auckland town hall on Friday night.
Mayor Alan Anderson said: "The town council set up this scheme last year when we invited organisations to apply for a sum of money up to £3,000 to fund a project which would enhance the experience, skills, creativity and enjoyment of the young people involved and would create a lasting benefit."
Durham Tigers rugby league club was awarded £3,000, Bishop Auckland Area Youth Activities group secured £2,800 and Sling Yr Hook landed £2,000.
Bishop Auckland Rugby Club Juniors, Bishop Auckland Theatre Hooligans, Coundon Cricket Club and Wear Valley Jujitsu Club all received £100 grants.
