POLICE are seeking witnesses after a teenage boy was mugged for his mobile phone by two hooded youths.
The incident happened last night between 10.15pm and 10.30pm in the car park at Sainsburys on Victoria Road in Darlington.
The 15 year old boy was crossing the car park and climbing the stairs which lead to the junction of Grange Road and Quaker Lane when he was accosted by two youths who demanded his phone.
When he refused he was pushed in the bushes and punched in the head before the youths ran off in the direction of Skerne Park.
One of the youths had a black, red and white BMX. He was a white male, about 17 years old, wearing a white hoody with blue stripes.
The second attacker who punched him was between 17 and 18 years old, with spotty complexion, and about 5ft10in tall with a slim build.
He was wearing a black Berghaus jacket, a blue pair of Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black Air Max 95 trainers with an orange and white upper.
PC Helen Hudson said: "At that time of night Sainsburys was just closing so were hoping someone may have seen something."
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0345-6060-365.
