VISITORS to a mental health support centre will be sitting comfortably after fundraisers gave £700 to buy a new chair.
Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation gave the funds to the Mental Health Support for its centre in Northallerton.
The charity, based in Northallerton at the Centrepoint Day Centre and also in Richmond, is to buy a reclining chair.
Paula McGee, Yorkshire Building Society’s Northallerton branch manager, said: "We’re delighted to support Mental Health Support.
"The charity provides an invaluable local service for people who have mental health difficulties and has developed its services and programme of events with the help of the people it assists."
The charity supports up to 80 people a week and offers a wide range of activities such as a computer course and drop-in facilities.
Debra Gell, the day centre manager, said: "The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation’s donation is gratefully received and the new chair will soon ensure our visitors can sit comfortably."
