TWO medical charities have benefited from an outgoing mayor’s charity campaign.
As Mayor of Chilton, Alan Bruce, has spent the past 12 months in office raising money for Chilton St John Ambulance and James Cook University Hospital’s chemotherapy and radiotheraphy ward.
Last Thursday Coun Bruce presented the proceeds of his cash crusade to representatives from both at Chilton & Windlestone Workingmen's Club.
Dr David Wilson, from ward 14, collected £4,000 and a defibulator worth more than £2,000 was presented to Alan Campbell and David Stodard from St John Ambulance.
Coun Bruce said: "I would like to thank everyone who has helped, donated or attended any of the fund raising events to help these two worthy causes."
He is seen here in the centre making presentions to David Stodard, of St John Ambulance, senior ward sister Mena Lee , Dr David Wilson, ward manager Pat Meredith and Alan Campbell of St John Anbulance.
