A MARTIAL arts team that found fame on a television talent show will be onscreen again tomorrow to try to set a new world record.
Chi Demo Team, based in Spennymoor, will appear on Sky1’s Guinness World Records Smashed at 8pm on Sunday.
After 13 members perform an energetic routine of acrobatic martial arts to open the programme, three will attempt to set a new record for the highest assisted martial arts kick.
The group, formerly known as Chungdokwan, were catapulted to fame when they impressed judges on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent a year ago.
The show, presented by Steve Jones and Konnie Huq, has already been recorded at the Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire but club and series officials are keeping tight-lipped about the result.
Coach Russell Shaw said: "It was a fantastic experience.
"The routine was only a minute long but went perfectly and wowed the crowds, the producers said the episode was one of the best they’ve made."
