FRIENDS Jo Barker and Liz Eaton pulled on their running shoes to help suffering animals.
They took part in the Edinburgh 10km run to raise £500 for the Brooke, the UK’s leading charity for working horses and donkeys overseas.
Jo, a vet at the Stokesley Veterinary Practice, and Liz, the practice manager, joined thousands of people in the run to help their favourite charity.
"It took us about an hour and ten minutes to get round and it was a very hot day," said Jo.
"The streets of Edinburgh are quite hilly and some are cobbled so it was a huge achievement just to finish the course."
This year the Brooke is celebrating its 75th anniversary and the money raised by Jo and Liz will go towards helping its network of mobile vet teams, field clinics and community animal health workers.
