OPEN auditions are being held for roles in a north Durham pantomime.

Try outs for places in Cinderella at being held at The Empire Theatre, Consett, on Sunday.

Pantoni Pantomimes, is on the look out for the region’s perfect Cinderella and accompanying stage performers.

West End choreographer Rita Proctor and Pantoni director David Lee are inviting the public to star in the show, which runs from December 9 - January 3 Pantoni Director, David Lee, who also provides the script for the pantomime, said "For all roles we’re looking for artists who have stage experience, especially for the title role, in this case it should be artists who are preferably dance trained to a good jazz standard as our Cinderella has to dance.

"Although we would prefer stage experience, being an ‘open audition’ we have an open mind and one never knows what special talent is going to come before us."

The popular comedian Pee Wee Price returns in the role of Buttons and will be attending the auditions on the day to read with the would-be Cinderella’s.

Anyone wishing to audition for the role of Cinderella should have a playing age of 18-22 years, be a maximum height of 5ft 6ins have an outstanding singing voice.

All artists should bring with them a CV and photo and be prepared to sing a ballad and an up-tempo song of their choice.

Registration for dancers takes place from 10am – 10.30am, with auditions commencing at 10.30am.
