CASH and jewellery were stolen from a house in West Auckland over the weekend.
The property, located near the Earl of Warwick pub which is on Chapel Street, was burgled sometime between Friday and Sunday at 11am.
A substantial amount of property was stolen including watches, necklaces, rings and an undisclosed quantity of cash.
Detective Constable Phil McElhone from Bishop Auckland CID said many items were of sentimental value to the victims, who are offering a reward for information into the whereabouts of the stolen goods and the offenders.
DC McElhone added: "I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area either before or over the weekend to contact us.
"It might be the smallest piece of information but it could help with our inquiry."
Call DC McElhone or DC Jeremy Downing at Bishop Auckland CID on 0345-60-60-365, or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
