7/4/09, the date of the Go: Audio concert. We set off at around 6ish to make sure we got near the front of the queue. Me and my friends were all really really excited. As soon as the doors opened I could feel the adrenalin rushing and my legs turned to jelly haha. Me and my friends made a poster for the Go: Audio competition but unfortunately we weren’t allowed it in.Going up the stairs to the stage I could feel my heart pumping. Me and my friends were a few rows from the front on the standing stalls. The first band called ‘Eighth Wave’ started the show off. They weren’t too good, then ‘Saving Aimee’ came on and that’s when the concert really started. They were really good; they had a crazy pianist which made the performance really exciting. By the end of the second band ‘Saving Aimee’ I had to go to the side and out of the crowd because it was so hot and stuffy that I couldn’t breathe very well. There was a small interval before Go: Audio actually came on. Everything was much better at the side, it was cooler and the view was a lot better because there weren’t any people blocking your view. Everyone was screaming and chanting ‘Go: Audio’. Then, there they were, Go: Audio had finally came on. Their first song was ‘Brake Brake’ and everyone was singing along and jumping. The atmosphere was really great and we had quite a good view from the side.
Some of the songs they played were made up stories, Drive to the city, Brake Brake, so quiet you were, Forget about it… and others. When they had finished their “last” song they went off stage and everyone was chanting “Go: Audio” again, so eventually they came back on stage and played ‘Drive to the city’ their new song, everyone cheered, danced and sang along. Then, everyone’s well known favourite ‘Made up stories’. I think that song made most peoples nights. It was such an amazing night and I hope to go to their signing on the 14th of May, and maybe another concert on the 5th of October. Overall I thought it was a fantastic concert and I would definitely go again!
