SHOPPERS in Newton Aycliffe town centre can learn about cancer prevention on Tuesday.
A public health team from NHS County Durham and Darlington are taking over an empty shop next to the Post Office for a three-hour information event for Cancer Prevention Week.
Staff and trained volunteers will man the shop from 10am to 1pm talking to people about ways of reducing the risk of cancer such as stopping smoking, eating and drinking healthily, being more active, using sun protection and keeping a healthy weight.
There will also be free smoothie tasting, a competition and hand massages.
