A BROTHER and sister were struck by a taxi after running into its path near a zebra crossing, police said tonight.
The ten-year-old girl suffered a fractured skull and a broken right leg in the incident, in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, at 4.20pm.
She is in a stable condition in James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Her eight-year-old brother was released from hospital after being treated for cuts and bruises.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which took place on Newham Way, close to its junction with Saxonfield.
The siblings, who are from the Coulby Newham area, ran into the path of the private hire Skoda Octavia taxi travelling towards Tesco, near the zebra crossing.
