A PENSIONER has suffered a broken hip after being hit by a reversing taxi.
The accident happened at 10am on Wednesday when the Skoda taxi was reversing out of a parking bay at the rear of the Spitfire public house on Victor Way in Thornaby.
The 89-year-old local woman fell to the ground and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where she was treated for a fractured left hip.
