ROAD safety campaigners have unveiled a new trailer to help save the lives of North Yorkshire drivers by warning about speeding.
The 95 Alive Road Safety Partnership is to take the trailer around the county as it bids to save 95 lives on the roads by the end of 2010.
The partnership is made up of North Yorkshire County Council and other local authorities plus the police and fire service.
The trailer will deliver its road safety message in car parks and at shopping centres alongside an existing partnership exhibition unit.
Richard Flinton, director for business and environment at the county council, said: "It’s a real bonus that we’ve been able to get the trailer from a North Yorkshire firm.
"We’ll be using this, along with our larger exhibition unit to take the road safety message to all parts of our huge county, to help save lives.
"The trailers an excellent advert for the campaign. Hopefully drivers, riders and pedestrians will see it travelling round and be reminded to share the road and take responsibility."
