CHILDREN at a nursery school had a chance to find out what it is like to be a doctor yesterday.
Parent and local GP Dr Alex Calabro visited Ferndene Nursery, in Elton Parade, Darlington, which encourages parents to teach children about their jobs.
In the past, they have had visits from a dentist, a lollipop lady, and they have learnt how to make pancakes with a chef.
Dr Calabro said: “The children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed examining the medical equipment and practising bandaging each other.
“By learning a little bit about what a doctor does, it helps to take away the fear some of them might have when visiting their own doctor.”
