A MAN wanted in connection with a suspicious death has this afternoon handed himself in to police.
The 21-year-old walked into Newton Aycliffe police station with members of his family and was arrested.
The man, from Chilton, County Durham, is being questioned in connection with the death of Neil Paul Jones.
The 28-year-old was assaulted at a house in the village's West Chilton Terrace late on Thursday and died shortly afterwards, although the cause of death is as yet unknown.
The married father-of-one is from Bedfordshire but was in the region visiting relatives.
Four people, three men and a woman aged between 24 and 31, who were in the house were arrested on Friday morning and released on police bail.
More than 30 officers were involved in the manhunt which saw armed police raid several homes in and around Chilton, including Stephenson Way, Newton Aycliffe.
Police with dogs and off-road vehicles also searched a plantation on the outskirts of Chilton on Saturday afternoon.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a criminal and released on police bail.
