A TEACHER came 14th in one of the world’s smallest marathons to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Andrew Roberts, 25, of Chester-le-Street, was one of about 125 runners who took part in the Tresco Marathon on Tresco, one of the Isles of Scilly.
Mr Roberts, who has a child with the condition, took part with his friend, the GMTV presenter Ben Shephard (correct), a patron of the charity, and finished in three hours and 51 minutes.
The course was seven-and-a-half laps of a three-and-a-half-mile course.
The annual race has raised more than £500,000 for research into Cystic Fibrosis since it was first run in 2000.
