YOUNGSTERS from four primary schools took part in five-a-side football tournament as part of a scheme to bring the sport into isolated rural areas.
And coaches from the FA Tesco Skills programme were also on hand to train the 48 players from Sessay, Arkengarthdale, East Cowton and Kell Bank schools.
Hambleton and Richmondshire District Council’s rural football development officer Jamie Pover has been working with isolated schools to support teachers that are not very confident on teaching football.
"I am helping them to deliver and improve individual skills," he said.
"The tournament’s aim was for the children to enjoy a competitive game of football in a relaxed atmosphere."
The tournament took place at Bedale High School.
