TOUGH guy television chefs Gordon Ramsey and Marco Pierre White have nothing on the cooks who will teach pupils how to prepare healthy meals next week.
Youngsters at Spennymoor School will learn to cook the Royal Marines way when the fighting force’s chef presentation team holds cooking workshops on Thursday, May 7.
Led by Royal Marine chef, Colour Sergeant Mike Beaton, pupils will learn to cook a healthy and nutritious meal while finding out more about life in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
Pupils will also sample ration packs currently used by service personnel on operations and attend a lecture on the risks of alcohol to young people.
Royal Navy physical training instructors will also put students through their paces with a military style PE lesson.
Colour Sergeant Mike Beaton, a commando, said: "The aim of these visits is to inform students of the importance and benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle and who better to do this than Royal Marines who need to adopt this approach if they are to succeed in their careers."
