A MAN with his finger stuck in his car's petrol filler cap had to be rescued by firefighters tonight.
Crews were called to North Hylton Road in Sunderland around 5pm.
The man had apparently been working on the car and dropped an item inside the petrol tank. His finger became stuck when he tried to fish it out.
Firefighters used a jack to raise the car, before using a hacksaw to cut away the inner wheelarch, brake pipe, filler piper and filler cap.
The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with a hand injury.
