AN evening bat walk rounds off a long day of wildlife activities at a North-East nature reserve on Sunday.
The Exploring Your Environment project has teamed up with Durham Wildlife Trust to run free dawn-till-dusk events at Low Barns, near Witton-le-Wear.
They start with a dawn chorus walk at 4.30am and include pond dipping, wildflower identification and bird spotting.
Although people can drop in at any time until 8pm, places on the dawn walk must be booked by calling 0191-584-3112.
Visitors should wear outdoor clothing and children must have an adult with them.
Exploring Your Environment aims to encourage people to learn about the environment. The three-year Newcastle University project is managed by Tyne and Wear Museums and sponsored by Northumbrian Water, with £226,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund
