Alarm bells are starting to ring over the Susan Boyle phenomenon.
Susan is the frumpy 48-year-old "never-been-kissed" Scottish spinster whose appearance on Britain's Got Talent has led to instant worldwide fame.
I don't believe her voice is quite as good as all the hype suggests but it is, without doubt, a fantastic story.
According to today's papers "war" has broken out between Susan's family and television chiefs over her future.
Her family want her to be able to cash in on her celebrity status immediately be being allowed to release a single and an album.
But Britain's Got Talent officials are insisting she waits until the show has run its course.
It's probably all part of the hype, but poor Susan is said to be "cracking up" under the strain.
Love him or hate him, Simon Cowell is the most powerful man in the music industry. If I was in Susan Boyle's shoes, I'd do exactly as he says.
